How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines (1965-1989)
Geared towards the novice rebuilder and expert alike, this book takes aim at the notion that you need a master's degree from the Porsche factory in order to rebuild a 911 engine. This book aims to unlock never before published secrets only known in the 'inner circle' of Porsche engine rebuilders.
Having your engine rebuilt by someone else? This book will arm you with all the information that you need to ask your mechanic before you hire him to rebuild your precious 911 engine. With this book in hand, you can easily pick out the experts from the pretenders - and save yourself thousands of dollars by securing yourself a quality engine rebuild.
Get it here: www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/BK135124.htm?pn=BK-135124&bc=c&SVSVSI=0705
The book is 240 pages long, and will contain all the information that you need to complete the rebuild yourself. In addition, there is a lengthy chapter on performance upgrades, ranging from the relatively easy task of regrinding your camshafts, all the way up to the installation of a computer-controlled engine management system.

Excellent! Concise yet covers everything one needs to know! I've been a mechanic for 65 years and still need a little guidance when working on an engine for the first time. You've saved me a whack of time and bleeding knuckles! I always put the bolts into the new pump when I remove them then transfer them to the old one once I've removed it. No cardboard template needed...

Hello, last week my C300/350 Diesel V4 4Matic 2012 ( 117k km ONLY ) beauty stopped/stalled while i am driving with 60 km/h and when i tried to start it again nothing happens. I transfer to a palce w here they are working mostly with benz and without any diagnostic or something they said engine is for replacement = dead. I am not that guy who is taking decision so quickly and transfer car to another place 3 days after this happen. We tried and actuall at this point of time car is trying to start and it not starting for a little bit like. Back in time since i bought it it tooks like 1 additional second to start , since the first drive i felt like its not starting like i am expecting benz 2012 to start but the people who changed oil and breaks etc. told me that it can be by multiple things and if something is bad for real it will trigger indication and we will replace it. So my question is more likely from description and your experience is it really possible V6 to die on 117k km or can be like something with fuel system etc. I also forgot to share that when they did diagnostic there were like 12 faulty errors neither one was from the engine all of them was for some modules like Head Unit , SAM etc. but initially people though that these errors are in relates to power battery which went off after couple tries to start the car. Thank you !

A lot of places seem to suggest that you should not grease the new rear main seal (RMS) when replacing it, and to leave it dry when installing. In this video it seems you recommend coating it in Curil T. Is there a reason that Pelican recommends this? Planning to do a clutch soon on a 996 C4S and want to know the correct approach. Likely will use Pelican’s kit but want this clarified if possible. Thanks!

Bought my Porsche coolant from Pelican for my '01 Carrera, but I'm curious whether I ought to buy a standard flush chemical and go through the routine flush process as well. I see that, even though it's not mentioned in the video, the text makes mention of "flush" and apparently it's recommended by der Porschefolken. I'm guessing a standard off-the-shelf flush product will be fine.

    • @pelicanparts

If you replace at the standard intervals, flushes aren't always needed at lower mileage intervals. Maybe 90k and up I would suggest one.
